Quakie Kitchen
People often ask, "Why did you call it quakie kitchen?" I was thinking of big quaking aspen patches in the mountains. These tree patches are just full of things... like a kitchen. I always have a lot of anticipation as I walk through aspen forests; many animals can be found in them. My idea for this painting was to see the deer after you gaze at the mountains in the sunshine. This is a very typical experience: you finally notice the deer... it's too late. He'll bolt when you make eye contact.
