This was a practice piece for the painting "God's Sky Over Devils Tower". I was frustrated when I started the painting because it looked more like a sunset than northern lights... so I made it look like NORTHERN LIGHTS! A little bit over the top, but beautiful. I have personally witnessed northern lights over Devil's Tower; they were not quite this bright.
