Wood Duck
Wood Duck
I painted this image to enter in the Federal Duck Stamp Competition. They didn't pick it. However, I did end up with a painting that I really like. I witnessed this wood duck at the D.C. Booth Historic National Fish Hatchery in Spearfish, SD. Wood ducks are very beautiful animals, and I enjoy seeing them. I also enjoy the way they whistle instead of quacking like a mallard. They are typically skittish, so you have to be patient and quiet to get a good look at one.

This fine art is available in a variety of hanging styles. They are all museum-quality giclée prints with pigmented inks that won’t fade. Each option except “unframed canvas mounted on board” comes ready-to-hang.
